Any news on the 2014 F650/F750s yet?

Basically contacted Ford and was basically told they couldn't give out any infomation until the proper time. They didn't confirm nor deny a V10 engine for the 2014s, so that's a good thing, I guess. Just wanted to see a photo to see if the styling changed, and what colors are being offered. I guess we'll have to wait for the press release? Like a kid on Christmas morning waiting to open presents(LOL!)

Have not heard a thing about the 650 and 750. Production is supposed to move from the International plant in Mexico where they are currently built to Avon Lake Ohio plant when the E series finally winds down. At least that is the story.

Yeah, I heard that, too. Just found out yesterday that 2013 MY trucks will be available thru 1/17/14, so I'm guessing the actual 2014 MY trucks' will be available sometime in Feb./March 2014? Ford still hasn't announced when the 2014 order bank will open. Not even an order guide as of yet. I don't think the styling will change that much. Maybe just engine/trans changes and upgrades, and (hopfully) different colors.

I think the move to Ohio is still years off, if it ever happens. The current 650 and 750 are really International Durastars with Cummins engines and Ford cabs, so I would imagine if Ford is going to build these trucks again they would have to redesign them. There were rumors that the V-10 was going to be dropped in 2014, but it doesn't look like that story is true. No reason to believe the V-10 will not be an option in the 2014 650 and 750.

I hope you're wrong about the Avon Lake move being delayed. I read Ford invested a lot of money to make the move from Mexico to the Ohio facility. Let's hope the delay isn't too long. One report I heard is the Ford-built 6.7L Powerstroke V8 diesel is to be added to the F650/750 engine lineup. Maybe they will keep the Cummins 6.7L six diesel, too. I remember, not too long ago, Ford offered three different diesel engines in these trucks. As for the V10 gas engine, I hope it's around in the 2014 trucks, but rumors of a big gas V8(7.0L) are going around. I thought that idea had be shelved, but with Ford, I never say never.

That's just it, Ford said they would invest in Avon Lake to move the mediums there, but from what I understand no money has actually been spent yet. My information may not be current though. I think we might know more after the next UAW contract. Until then at least, Avon Lake will probably continue to produce the E-series.

I saw a "2014" F650 V10 dumptruck, today. Turns out according to the VIN, it's a new 2013 MY, not a 2014. For a few minutes there, I thought "Well, they look the same to me." Here I got my hopes up. I hope Ford does invest the money into the Avon Lake plant. I thought E-series vans were to be phased out by early 2014 MY? The new Transit vans, I thought, were their replacements. Maybe Ford will build both lines for 2014? That doesn't seem too cost effective, though. Then again, nothing surprises me anymore. Well, except if I saw a 2014 medium duty "mule" pull up beside me at a light.

I'll try and remember to bring the Ford Fleet book home tomorrow. I got one at the fleet meeting last month. It'll have all the details. There's big changes coming on vans but that's for another forum.

Sounds good to me! I've eager to see the changes(if any) for 2014 MY F650/F750 trucks.

Just received an email reply from a big Ford truck dealership I contacted in regards to the 2014MY F650/F750. They basically said there will be no "2014" models, but the current 2013s will still be built to Jan. 2014, and still at the Mexico facility. Starting in early 2014 a "2015" MY F650/F750 will start production in the Avon Lake facility in Ohio.

Has anyone heard about changes that will be made to the 650 and 750 when they move them to Ohio? I have heard some rumors that the 6.7L Powerstroke will be offered, but that is about it.

I've heard two different stories with the 6.7L Powerstroke being available in the new F650/F750 line. First, it was it was a "given" that it would replace the Cummins diesel, but some say it's not suitable for class 6/7 work cycles. Can't see why, as it surely has the power for the application, maybe durability? I dunno, but that's what I've heard. I seriously doubt a MAJOR redesign looks-wise. It'll have that familiar FORD look, you can bet on that! Infomation will probably be out late Summer, or early Fall. I've been told that in Jan. 2014 they will offically be out and labeled as '2015' models. So I'll venture to guess no official '2014' MY trucks will be built. Sorta reminds me of mid-2002.....with Ford I never say never. That said, watch a 2014 F650/F750 version be offered this Sept.....I wonder if Ford will offer the sourcebook sheets for them

I predict the whole medium duty line will be dropped within 5 years. Ford intentionally got out of the heavy duty market awhile back, and the next logical step is to get out of the medium duty market. In other words, IMO, the F450-F550 will be the cut off point in the near future. Ford wants to be in the high volume, high profit end of the business, an the F650 or F750 is neither.

If you compare how many 450's and 550's they sell to how many 650's and 750's they sell in a year, it is not hard to come to that conclusion. I thought the Blue Diamond deal with International made sense, because it kept Ford in the medium duty game without the expense. I am surprised Ford is moving the 650's and 750's back into their own plant.

Let's hope that Ford doesn't phase out the F650/F750 in the next 5 years. Since GM left the medium duty segment in mid-2009, Ford should see a better profit and market share in Class 6&7 trucks. Hino seems to be becoming a strong player in the medium duty truck market. I believe they are owned by Toyota? I see these trucks all over the place, now. Ford will have to meet this challenge with a all new F650/F750, plus rumor has it GM plans to get back into medium duty truck business with a new partner......International. At least, that was the story a few months ago. A GM/Navistar venture?! Didn't the GM/Isuzu venture work out? There is profit to be made in this market, why back out now???? One thing about those Hino mediums.....their diesels sound quiet. I've been told they are down on power, however. I'll take loud & powerful anyday over quiet and in need of more power!
