Ford 1barrel on my 57 f100 272

Thought I'd ask if anyone has heard of the 272 coming with a 1barrel carb set up. I seem to have that setup but can't find info about the carb/rebuilding it. Carb seems small for a v8

I doubt you have a 1V carb, they were never used on any V8 that I know of. What makes you think it is a 1V?

I think I'm the bonehead of the month. It has the look of a 1 bbl due to air horn but I looked down it and i see two fuel holes/nozzles

That would make sense that it is a 2V, we all make mistakes at times.

I think I've found out which carb I have...says Ford USA on it but I believe it to really be a Holley AA-1 \ aka Holley 94?

anyone have anything good\bad to say about this carb? I'm trying to restore to stock conditions Or I'd just drop a 4bbl intake and forget it

It depends on how you run it. Regular cruising/fair mileage the stock 94 works fine, there are tons of parts for them. I've got three of 'em on an Offy manifold on my 292 (not stock). A 4bbl intake on a 272......what heads are on it?...stock cam?....it would work, only with a very small carb, say a 365/390 cfm. In my early Y-block days..... 292, tired heads, bird catcher 4bbl intake (pre '57 ECZ-9425-A) with adapter plate, 750cfm Holley!! NO midrange! Idled great, wide open, pulled....ok. bought another 292 with late model Holley flange (ECZ-9425-B) manifold, AND a 390cfm Holley.

All in all, 94's are great simple carbs.... when rebuilt
