74 F350 Super Camper Special question
Recently acquired a 74 F350 Super Camper Special with the original 460 engine and C6 trans in it. It has been sitting for about 10 years, but only has 65k miles on it and is a very solid truck. Have it running, but someone put one of the newer aftermarket Carter AFB carbs on it before it was parked and it has a manual choke. I want to put the correct carb back on it, but am not sure what the correct carb is. Did it come with a Autolite/Motorcraft 4300, or did it have a Holley of some kind on it?

Congrats on your recent acquisition! Gotta love the Super Camper Specials.
My 74 F350 w/460 had the Motorcraft 4300 and to the best of my knowledge based upon research, that is what came stock with the 460. I still have my 4300 but replaced it with a Demon carb since the 4300 was "shot" and even after rebuilding, somewhat notorious for leaking, etc.

Thanks for the information! I have a 4300 autolite that came off of my 70 429 LTD I could put on it (put a Holley 780 on the car). I also have a Holley 600 sitting around I could put on it that just needs a quick rebuild before installation.
Another question--what kind of air cleaner came on these trucks/engines? This one has a chrome, open element style air cleaner that has factory Ford labels on it as well as a chrome Ford air cleaner nut--looks like Ford stuff, but the crankcase breather vent on top of the oil fill cap has no where to connect, so that make me think the air cleaner came off of another Ford vehicle.

I am not aware of an open element air cleaner being a stock item on the Ford pickups w/460. Of all the truck 460's that I have seen, I am only aware of the typical closed air cleaner housing, painted in Ford blue, with the single snorkel. I'm thinking that the one you have is an after market air cleaner.

I have a correct style air cleaner I can put on it then--came off a 70 429, so it will work just fine.
When I got this truck, both bumpers were missing. The guy said he took them off and put them in his shed, and they got stolen. Is the front bumper the same as fits the same year F100/F150? The bumper mounting brackets are still on the frame, just no bumper.
I have a rear step bumper off a 79 F250 and I think it will work by flipping the brackets over so that the offset goes in vs out (frame is much narrower in the rear on this super camper special).
