Slimbo I'm still listening to nearly every song I've heard beginning as far back as my earliest memory of songs. As someone who plays an instrument we tend to love something based more on the talent involved rather than its "popularity" or genre. Its a craft that's unique and so gratifying when something played live works out like we hear in our heads.
Sadly Slimbo no bad I ever played with recorded anything--it was too expensive back in the 60's to DIY. My biggest gig with the Motown-like band was one I wish footage existed though. I'm sure my young azz would look exactly like I felt---in waaaaaaaaayy too far over my head with a corps of talented guys who'd probably been on the road over 20 years when I first met them.
I've always said I learn more from my mistakes than my successes--that being so I'd be a genius today!
