No more 4:30 for 2014?!!

went to dealer today and test drove, then tried to order an f250 6.2. They were about 2k more than what I thought I should pay so the fleet Mngr (who wasn't in), is going to play with my order and call me Monday. Anyway, after the salesperson. comes back the first time she said the 4:30 is no longer available. 3:73 is the lowest I could order Does any of you know if that is for sure true?

Yes, that's right but when I build one on the official Ford site it's still M/Y 2013. The fleet mngr does their ordering may know more on Monday.

Make sure they know you want the gas engine. There are different options in gear ratios with the diesel engine.

Thanks. I did a build on the dealers website yesterday and it was there as well. Feeling better about it. I called the sales lady back and uh, not to stereotype here, but she doesn't have a clue. She still wants me to wait for the fleet mngr to call on Monday. I should have guessed, cause when we were on the test drive I tried and commented on the manual trans mode. She said "oh ya, I use that on my truck to go down hills." To which I asked "so what year is your truck?" "It's an 06." Kept my mouth shut but I thought it wasn't on these trucks till '11.

Hopefully I'll place an order on Monday. If I do I'll start another thread with the details. I'm excited. Truck I test drove was CC L/B 3:73. Very smooth and quiet, except when I got on it, then it sounded just right. Good growl but not too loud. I definitely noticed the throttle delay though

I'm fed up with dealers who know nothing about what they sell. My dealer always jokes that I should be selling trucks for him. Even the trucks they order for stock say nothing about what truck people want. Still see trucks with open axles that can't drag a boat up a ramp without 4wd.

I don't think you'll regret it are you going with the 4.30? I love mine, it can really shift when she wants to for a big girl

I had to wait 7 weeks for it, but I'm glad I did now

Yup, I'm sure I'll love the 4:30's when I'm towing my trailer. I got a little weak and looked around the dealers inventory, but the more I looked, the more I realized it would be worth the wait to get exactly what I want. Trailer is a little over 7,000 lbs all loaded up, so I'm thinkin this truck will match up perfectly

If I had to do it over, I would wait and get the 4:30 and everything else I would like to have

That's why I built mine online and sent the build sheet to 4 dealers for a price, I did all my homework and I didn't need a sales person try and tell me what I wanted or needed in a truck.

Build it - Order it the way you want - Buy from the dealer if they give you the price you want - hopefully the sales lady is good looking - if so let her sell it - just don't let her influence you...

Ok, just to update; the sales babe called me back and had located a few trucks that are available now, but I just couldn't do it. They said the 4:30 IS available, and they will sell it to me for invoice + $500. I will have to take my chances on the rebates, and incentives that are (or aren't), available when the truck is delivered, but I think it will be worth it to have just what I want. I can get 2.5% financing from my credit union if Ford can't do better, and it will also give me a couple months to save up more cash and to sell my good ol f150 when the time is close. I'm really gonna miss her, what a great truck it's been. So the order will go in Wednesday, cause she's off tomorrow and wants me to wait till then. I'll spend the next couple days finalizing my order and then start the long wait for the new truck. I'll post up all the details at that time. I'm already stoked!

As I foggily remember, the cost of the 4.30 was three something on the X Plan that I ordered with.
