how rare is my 2001 Roush F150?

I have emailed Roush to find out how rare my truck is (a while ago) with no response. Bought new by my Dad from a Ford dealer in San Jose. Anybody have any ideas how many Regular cab Short beds they produced that year? I have never seen another, not many badges, just on rims, body kit, brake pedal cover and tag in passenger side door jamb. It is a stage 2. I am new to this site and cant figure out how to attach a picture to this thread...maybe I can get help with that too. But there is a picture in my albums. Thanks in advance

As far as I know and have found out, Roush started producing the F-150's in '04'. Does the door sticker have a serial number? Lots of usual visual signs listed below, easy to clone.

They acknowledge the truck. They send me an all new K & N intake about 5 years ago because their intake was not CARB compliant here in CA and would not pass visual on smog check. I gave them VIN and they sent me a brand new cold air kit free of charge. Here are pics of rim, body and door tag.

it's rare, but it's most likely a dealer installed package

IMHO, I would think referring to it as a dealer option/low production vehicle would be more appropriate.

In the late 90's, Ford was really PR pushing the "Shelby" mustangs (ID plate, etc)...a relative bought one ($40k+)......as you looked at the build sheet it was actually listed as "Shelby Optioned"...which meant IBACH built springs, sway bars, aftermarket shocks/struts, brembo or wildwood brakes, bigger wheels/tires and a louder muffler.....he & many of the local (los Angeles) area "Shelby GURU Owners" insisted their cars were rare, numbered and would be very valuable in the future.....he took a $20k+ bath on the car 3 years later...after being for sale privately for a year....IIRR, on a trade in the dealer gave him $2k for the "Shelby Option".

I know you in all honesty were not so much referring to the rareity so to speak but to the low-production numbers....which is very true!

FYI- my family has been around for many years in the racing/engine build arena, going back to the days of "Thunder-Alley" (those in SoCal will know what I'm referrering to)......There are a lot a good PR people out there not just selling goods but "names" & "reputations" as well.....CS as an example.....a very strong business person, is given credit for the Cobra's, yet the very first one was built by Dean Moon in Santa Fe Springs (IIRR) and delivered to CS's shop...ACE did all the construction with "REM" (from CS's shop doing all the "interface" & SME)....CS's shop basically in short, was responsible for dropping the engines & tranny's in the cars.......but from a PR aspect, few know the "whole story".

Rare truck! You would have much better luck on fnsweet.com

Also check your vin # for more info
VIN Search

You should go get your truck signed next year by Jack himself Frontier Ford Santa Clara CA
Every year that guy comes to nor cal for infineon race in Sonoma which during of the summer (JUNE) when comes out to nor cal he stops by one of his dealerships and signs what ever you want.

here is official answer from Roush...I guess I am just curious to see how many were made. Not trying to place a value on truck as I would never sell...

Joseph,

Thanks for contacting ROUSH Performance.

Sorry, unfortunately the below information you have is the only documentation we can provide, we do not keep any other records for that model year.

I had responded before wondering just how authentic your truck was but you proved it was. I had gone to the Roush site listed above earlier and there were no production records of it. The first year they stated keeping detailed records of the F-150 was 2004 and there were only 263 of all varieties of the F-150. Can't figure out that serial number 4295 unless that may include all of the Roush cars/trucks and that even seems high. You sure seem to have a rare example. On my second Roush Mustang.

emailed Roush one last time asking if it was dealer installed or Roush in-house..they said that it was in fact Roush in-house. I think I will leave it at that. Thanks everyone for the help.
