My a/c compressor went bad on my (unfortunately) R12 system (I see what looks like weld spatter near where the hoses connect). The compressor has made a "growling" noise for years. Oh, and yes it's labeled as being an R12 system at the evap box.

Anyway, I've ordered the following from Rockauto: a compressor, an accumulator, a self-adjusting orifice tube, and all hoses. Currently, I also have a shop that will charge my system...$59 for R134a or $130 for R12. I'd like to convert to R134a, but I know it won't cool as well as R12 unless I can possibly change the condenser to one designed for R134. I know the '95 trucks all have R134 systems.

My hunch is that the '95 R134 condenser will mount to my '94, but I don't know if the hoses will fit. I should mention that, on Rockauto, the compressor and orifice tubes are the same for both years, but it's unclear about the hoses (only the liquid line (Motorcraft) appears to be available for the '95 from that site). Also, the accumulator part nos. from the same mfr. on Rockauto are different for those two years.
