xl conversion to power windows and locks
I'm looking to keep the doors I have and swap out the panels to add on power windows and locks. Has any one done this on the 99-04 body style f250s? I was wondering if I would be able to use a factory key fob for the power locks when I get done adding them on. I plan on getting all of this out of a donor truck. How difficult is this going to be? I'm not and expert by no means, but I'm not an idiot either. Any help on this would be appreciated. I have looked at a couple different threads about this but they were all kind of vague. There is probably a good one out there but I couldn't find it.

I've done this on an E250, try to describe the general process for you.........
-From the donor truck you'd want the door lock actuators, complete window regulators and every switch and wire harness including the boot from the door to the body. The door wiring harness should have two connectors at its end, exiting through the lower A Pillar where they connect to the main body wiring harness.
The regulators and lock actuators are riveted in so those need to be removed. Door glass is also riveted to the regulator, also needing removed.
-From the donor vehicle cut at least 12" of the body wiring harness that connects to the door harnesses so you can splice them into key-on power (windows) as well as always hot power (door locks) properly fused.
Get an EVTM or wiring diagrams book from eBay or have access to full and accurate schematics--this was extremely helpful to me.
That's somewhat a brief over view and there are a few other "learning curve" things---if you're still willing to continue PM me and we'll talk more at length about this process.
