97 foggy head lights, inside and out

Have a 97 f150 with very foggy head lights . Haven't done any major cleaning products only glass cleaner. Are the stock head lights worth anything when they are clear. A friend wanted to sand and clear coat them but I didn't know if that was a good idea.

Replaced mine (2001 Screw) a few months ago. Tried the cleaning routine with marginal results. I got mine off Ebay, both headlights and turn signals with bulbs for about $50. Look like original and a huge improvement in lighting.

I think mine were about $45 a piece, but I can't remember. They are very well made, and I think Eagle Eyes made them. I would highly recommend them.

Yes Lightning style heads and corners are the way to go. IIRC my '97 headlights were always cloudy I think that's just they way they were back then. Make sure you aren't a very early '97 model that won't accept those newer headlamps first.

A lightning 3rd brake light is also a major improvement.

Whatever yall do, stay away from PARTS GEEK. There isn't enough room on this page for me to explain my BAD experience.

Good to know. I figured to stay away from there. I always go to advanced auto , Napa , oriellys or auto zone. Go local return local and warranty local . Headlights I was unsure of with out paying $$$$ at places locally

I have had good luck with rockauto for that type of stuff. I replaced the headlights in my dd 04 grand prix ( I know, I know, but I drive 90 mi a day to work ) about 3 years ago with the cheaper replacements that they have and they are just now starting to fog again, lasted longer than the factory replacements I bought the first time.
