Convenience Wiring in XL SD.

Hi Guys,

I haven't been able to find any threads on the harness for the power windows, power locks, power mirrors on the early Super Duty trucks. I have found a couple of threads about the OBS trucks and the harness is just under the windshield on the firewall.

I have an E99 XL main truck and a 2000 XLT parts truck

Does anyone know if all the SDs came pre-wired for these features?

Is the harness in the same location if it wasn't pre-wired?

Has anyone removed the dash from an SD?

Is there a good source of info on harness location that I can get a hold of?

I have downloaded the service manual but the wiring schematics don't work. Are there versions that have working schematics?

Has anyone swapped this stuff junkyard style?

Anyone have a good source for towing power mirrors? My donor truck has power sail mirrors and I would prefer tow mirrors.

Any help would be great.

RWith an E99 it's tough to tell since so many changes were made mid 99. I had a 2000 XL F350 that I know had no door wiring other than speakers. There was no wiring for power seats, cruise or anything extra. There is no extra wiring for other features. You will have to swap pretty much every harness in the truck but it can be done.

I know the wiring isn't in the door. I was wondering if the harness up under the dash would be there though.

I am going to dig into the donor a bit and see if there are a bunch of connectors up there. If there are there would be hope, if there aren't I would be taking the dash out I am guessing.

I have installed the cruise from the donor. Works good.

I also have a 11/1999 sd truck. I have found no harness available. I have added power door locks, the 05 signal mirrors w/heat, compass and temp rear view mirror and the overhead distance to empty, mpg trip computer console. I have made all the harnesses for all these. The only factory harness I found in my truck was for the clearence lights that has the wire hot, on passenger side kick panel. Also the rear speakers harness was there, thats about it. You said you installed cruise? You must have a diesel. Mine is a 5.4. I say that becouse in gas we have to add something else that controls the throttle body for cruise.

Yes

I have a 7.3l. The actuator actually kind of screwed me up! I was looking for something that wasn't there. The cd manual mentioned it and I was trying to find this dang thing and it is only for gas.

Sounds like I need to remove the dash to do this.
