A couple of door related questions

I've got a '59 F100...regular cab. I've seen these arm rests for sale in most of the parts catalogs.....one of them said its for the custom cabs. My truck has no arm rests. I'm wondering if anyone knows if these armrests would bolt onto my door since its a regular cab? I've only seen one catalog...LMC I think....that sold clips and bolts also. Are the mounting holes on all doors or just custom cab doors?

The other question....when you open my doors they don't stay open.....soon as you let go they swing shut. Is there some spring or clip or other mechanism that's supposed to hold the doors open? I haven't seen anything in the catalogs.

Haven't seen the clips forsale myself. My custom cab only has the armrest on the driver's side.

As far as your door moving on you, are you doors adjusted properly. Have you looked to see how even the gaps are around them when they are shut? There is quite a bit of adjustment on them.

(Are you parking on a side hill when you open your doors?)

Arm rests are easy to mount, I added them to mine. I got them at either Dennis Carpenter or LMC Truck.

Doors are free to close, nothing to hold them open to my knowledge. Just have to be careful.

These armrests are also the same as: 1959/60 Ford cars & rear doors of 1960/64's / 1960/63 Falcon/Comet / 1961/66 F100/1100 / 1963/69 N/NT/T500/1000 / 1967/69 F800/1000.

It looks like my doors are lined up perfectly so I'm not sure why they swing shut like they do. Here's a picture of the inside of the drivers door (I'm holding it open with my foot!).....it looks like I don't have any mounting holes for the arm rests.

These doors & hinges have no real "check" mechanism built into them nor do they have any real friction mechanism. They just open until the pivot part comes in contact with the fixed part.
