The short wheelbase trucks like yours need a tapered block, if I recall correctly.

If I am wrong, someone will take pleasure in correcting me.

From what I can tell Ford has two types of 4" inch blocks (Leaf Spring Axle U-Bolt Spacers) for single rear wheel vehicles (excluding narrow frame). The 142" wheelbase extended cab short bed uses the same blocks as the 137" wheelbase regular cab long bed. While all other wheelbases (156", 158" and 172") share a common block. The blocks for the longer wheelbases are not tapered.

I have an 06 F350 Long bet Crew Cab and it is non tapered blocks.
I found out when the Off Road shop that has sense gone out of business
sold and installed a set of 5" tapered blocks. My pinyon angle was nasty
and the drive off shudder was bad. I put my stock ones back one and
went to the shop to get the right ones and guess what they were gone.
So I have a set of 5" tapered blocks with U-bolts if someone is interested
in some trade.

But back to the topic. In talking with the people at Tough Country :: Toughen Up Your Ride With Tough Country
They did tell me that my rig uses the non-tapered.
