Hi I am new and in a bind, my son races Motocross and we are 2500 miles from home when our 1998 Ford box van with 199,000 miles on it started running rough. during our trip We drove for 6 hours and it ran perfect to my friends house where we parked it overnight with zero problems but when I started it in the morning it smoked white / blueish like crazy and had no throttle responce once the throttle came around I drove it up the street and it cleared out but took awhile so I thought all was well, but when we left it smoke again but not quite as much, while going down the freeway it was surging so I pulled over and changed the fuel filter but it was still acting wierd but after I drove around 30 miles on the freeway at 65 mph it seemed to come around and we made it to the next race but once it goes down to idle it starts to run rough again low power but only smokes when it has sat awhile not while driving. Also with my discription do you think I can make home 2500 miles, it seems to do ok at speed but is a little down on power......thanks Greg

 

Pull the plugs on the valve cover harness' and check them for burnt pins.
