Many Miles/Few Problems
Just wanted to let you all know that my 2006 has been a faithful servant for all these many miles. I finally had one of those huge failures at 200376 miles. The transmission just came apart. I pulled out of a McDonald's and heard a strange noise. When I was parking and needed to straighten up the reverse was almost non-existent. When I put it in drive to finish the parking alignment I heard more horrible noises. Since it was the weekend of my daughter's wedding I decided to park it and leave it until Sunday. I had it towed to a shop on that Sunday and had the tranny rebuilt that week. Fortunately I had the spare truck at home (I was 200 miles from home at the time) and was able to go to work on Monday. I'm back on the road after $1989.83. Too bad the transmission failed. I was hoping to make it to 300K miles for bragging rights. Truck runs great. Only thing I have to do is replace the EGR. Probably ought to replace the plugs as well.
Almost all of my driving is on interstates. I drive about 700 to 900 miles per week since I generally work 180 to 300 miles from home.
