Unless this was a Canadian truck, that would be very unusual. Sounds like either the heads were replaced or the motor was. Have you checked the Date Code on the block?

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Here's a tutorial Bob put together: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/67...-pictures.html

She looks pretty solid Bud. How's she run? If she runs fair than drive the wheels off her. I like the slots. They are a good looking wheel for an old ford. I have them on my Uni. Easy to clean with the spray and wash Napa aluminum wheel bright. I use it on the 33's for my Bronco as well. That reminds me if I don't make a town trip tomorrow to put the 33's back on as winter is over here finally. Somewhere on this big Island is a 48 to 50 F1 done in a metal flake old school blue. I saw it with the hood up in the store parking lot a couple years ago. Had a flat motor in it. I need to go hunting for it. I want it and it is so close to me. maybe put an ad in the local paper and some flyers on the store bulletin boards. Stay tuned guys as I am going hunting. Tis time to Crap or get off the pot.

ya prolly have ta re-size it before ya try and upload it. If ya become a member for just over $20.00 it makes it soo easy and it re-sizes for ya and all that stuff than. Plus no ads and with a three year script ya get a really cool T-shirt. Well most folks do, but ya got to ask and I never bothered. I would just get Ford grease all over it like all my others anyway.

Getting back to your question, the answer is no, Mercury engines or parts from them (ie; heads) were never installed originally from Ford in F1's. This goes for both US and Canadian production, even in Mercury pickups. Apparently your truck isn't as "bone stock" as you thought. Still looks like a nice one, though.

Actually, no. The combustion chambers are larger on Merc heads than on an 8BA or EAB head, to match the larger displacement of the Mercury engine. You may be lucky and have a complete Merc engine installed. But if someone just swapped the heads, you'll be seriously down on power, and flatties didn't have much to spare to begin with.
