Y-Block 292 Water Pump Connection?

Is the connector in the picture a standard part for a 1962 F250 Y-Block 292? I have searched 2 different manuals and can not find any mention of it. Could it be something my grandfather added to solve a problem?

Thank You

Don't know if it's " a standard part" or not but that is where your heater hose connects...

Original heater hose fitting (8A-18599) rusted out, replaced by "fixum."

Deluxe fresh air and economy recirculating heaters were optional, so manual may not show fitting.

I think that looks like mine that I installed in 1988 bought from napa
these can be rebuilt and my water pump was rebuilt
