I need some help on a 2bbl to 4bbl change i want to do. 351w
Ive been looking around for a "kit" per say to make things easier and si I dont get left half done waiting for more parts. I currently have a 2 bbl that was rebuilt by the previous owner and whatever he did it doesnt run well no matter what I do for a tune up, choke is not working because the spring is missing... Awesome.
Anyhow I figure I would like a 4bbl but im lost as to which carb and intake manifold I need and the linkages, ford kick down busines.... kind of overwhelmed.
Here's something from summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cm...d/model/bronco, on this kit tho it says operating rpm 1500-6500 some say idle to 6000 wtfook
Any opinions or a "grocery list" I appreciate the help

my 78 upgrade
I had 78 Bronco /400 auto with trailer pk. I installed Eldelbrock sp2 with Holly 650 4 barrel carb, had to change vacuum advance to one off 1969 390
[ don't know what other ones would have worked ] . Never had any problems with this setup and it woke the Bronco up! Also installed true dual
setup.

Looks like the "kit" thru Summit would be your best bet. Make sure they provide the carb with the Ford kickdown lever. If not, you may be able to put together a "package" yourself. Just look at what you need. Edelbrock makes a "Power Package", but it's over $800 and doesn't include the gaskets, air cleaner or installation hardware. I think the Edelbrock carbs come with the Ford kickdown lever, but check and make sure. Look around and shop it.

Edlebrock did infact make a kickdown adapter that fits onto he throttle linkage so you and hook up the kick down. I did a 4bbl conversion on my 78 and my Carter AFB needed tha linkage. Luckily the person I bought the intake and carb from also had the adapter to go with it.
This might be different because the Windsor motor has a more narrow valley than our modified motors. I kind of think that putting together your own shopping cart of parts would be best.

You need to find out which Weiand Stealth manifold it is. They make a Stealth model from dual plane to a "ram" style manifold. Be careful buying off Craigslist. Check the flanges with a metal straight edge. Inspect it carefully for cracks and electrolysis.
