Valve cover gasket replacement help

Valve cover gasket replacement help
Got a 1994 Ford F150 with a 4.9L engine a couple weeks ago. I've tackled some minor cosmetic repairs like replacing pieces of trim/side mirrors/door handles. Now I'm thinking it's time to tackle my first real mechanical repair. My valve cover gasket is leaking oil, so I went out and got a replacement gasket and I'm wanting to get started. Here's the problem: I got the Chiltons guide, and I've found several other sources that list the steps of how to remove the upper intake manifold and replace the gasket, BUT I can't seem to find a diagram anywhere that labels these parts so I know what the hell I'm looking for when the directions tell me to
"
etc, etc.
I don't know what the negative battery cable or the PCV hose or the air cleaner outlet tube or any of these things are supposed to look like.
Anybody have a diagram they can send my way? Or pointers? I'm also wondering what specific tools I'm going to need. I have a set of socket wrenches and some other basic tools. I think I'm going to need to get a torque wrench. Anything else y'all can think of?
"
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Tag and disengage the electrical connectors and vacuum lines that interfere with the removal of the manifold.
- Disconnect the PCV hose on the underside of the manifold.
- Disconnect the throttle linkage and position the loose cable out of the way.
- Disconnect the air cleaner outlet tube from the throttle body.
etc, etc.

There's a lot of info you're asking for- I'd say more than can be provided w/out some actual pictures. You can either post some pictures of your engine bay on here so we can take a look and help you out more specifically; OR you can spend some time on google images or youtube and look up the parts you need to locate.
