Value of a flathead?

I am shopping for a motor for a 29 Roadster. Wondering what is a realistic cost of a flathead V8. One I am looking at, year unknown, price not yet negotiated, turns over manually, not run for countless years. Will rebuild. I'm new to the older Ford motors. How hard are these to find? What should I offer him?
Thanks in advance.

Check and make sure it has 24 bolts on each head, the ealier cars, some with water pumps in the head, are not a good motor for building other than to be absolutly stock. 8BA's are a little better than the ealier ones with the water outlet in the center of the head, but it's up to what you can find and want. I'd pay less than $300 for any motor unless recently rebuilt.
