'95 OBDI, get codes without scan tool?

I know on my OBDI GM products I can use a paper clip to short certain pins on the ALDL connector which will cause the check engine light to flash the diagnostic codes without needing a scan tool.

Does anybody know if there is such a trick for Ford?

To answer your question with out a sales pitch, here you go: Fuel Injection Technical Library » How To Run a Self-Test

I will agree the Equus 3145 makes the job MUCH easier..

Here's another site showing how to count blinks: EEC IV Self Test hookup . You can leave out the test light or volt meter they talk about and watch the check engine light instead. The simple code readers for this generation truck do not offer any additional testing capability beyond what you get with the paperclip method - they just count the blinks for you.
