97 f250hd alternator 95amp to 130 amp?

I have the 1997 f250 hd with a 95 amp. I tried doing some searching, and came up with a little bit of info, but not enough. I use this truck for plowing, more than likely will be plowing a couple of parking lots and i'd say about 30 driveways. With my 95 amp just blowing up, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to dropping in a 130 amp. One that I can just drop in without any kind of modification. Also, what would be a good brand. Doing searches through napa, autozone, advanced only has 95 amps showing up. Thank you

Have a look at these alternators.
You can see how they have two holes between the three pairs of fins on the front.
The diameter is 148mm, where your 95A is 135mm with four holes.
It may be you have one with 'V' legs on the front.
But I can't find a picture of that right now.

If you can tell us which mounting style your truck is, we can tell you what vehicle you need to ask for.

I would also suggest using a lower gauge charging cable to handle the extra amps.
These are inexpensive enough.

Thank you for the reply!

It is the 5.8l engine

It would also be that side mount alternator.

Will the difference in diameter cause any problems?

With a side mount, no. RJM sells a 160 amp alternator new for $130.
RJM Injection Tech — Side Mount 160Amp 3G

Or if you want a used one, any of these should work:
93-96 V8 Econoline with Air Conditioning or the High Output Alternator options
97-03 V6 Econoline E-Series or F-150
95-01 4.0 V6 Explorer or Ranger
94.5-97 Powerstroke Diesel F-Series

Yours should be 4 gauge from the alt to the starter solenoid. You should replace that run with a 2 gauge one making sure you add a 175 amp fuse in line with it.
