Unhappy ECM trashed...need helplooking for a replacement

After a year and a half struggle of either running ok or running poorly enough to not dare pull into traffic with my '92, 300, manual trans, I pulled the ECM out of it. Low and behold all of my frustration was evident when I saw the caps had leaked fluid all over the board. One cap destroyed "2" traces on the board and warped it, and the other burned the pole which it was soldered to. I tried to jumper the 2 traces and installed the new caps, but now the fuel pump runs continuously and doesn't communicate with the code reader.

I looked up the ECM code T2D1 and I have found several for $177. I found another unit for a '93, all same, but different year. Mine has the prefix F2TF whereas the '93 has F3TF. Suffix for '92 is ASB and the '93 is XB. Both for 5spd, 4.9L.

Can I save some dough and go with the '93? Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply White! Also, I never listed the price of the '93 ECM. It's $100 or less depending on best offer or local jys and fuel.

Try autocomputerexchange.net <------ had good pricing, customer service, prepaid postage for return, etc. since you have your part numbers, should be easy to get them the info.
