What to replace?
1978 F150 w/ 460 and C6
I recently overtorqued several rockers when checking some pushrods. This resulted in several bent pushrods. I plan to pull the engine to inspect for further damage.
I realize the pushrods need to be replaced, and probably the lifters and camshaft as well. I bought the truck it is in as a summer project to learn more about engines, and it looks like I will one way or the other.
What is the minimum I need to inspect after pulling it? Is it likely the damage stopped with the lobes on the camshaft or should I look into it further while I have the engine out?

From your other thread, I find it hard to believe you over torqued 4 non adjustable rockers and the other 12 were fine. That might be the symptom and not the cause.
At any rate, I would pull the intake (if you haven't already) and check the offending lifters - try and pull them out. Try some known good ones, too. That telescoping magnet should work - at least you should be able to move them.
Then drain the oil and pull the filter. Watch as the oil comes out for any shiny metallic things - "dust" and shavings. Cut the filter apart and take a peek in the folds and the bottom. What do you see? I do this myself at every oil change, just out of habit.
If you have any metallic shavings/dust in the oil, the motor needs to be jet washed, at least, and new rod, main and cam berrins.
I think you'll find #2 and 3 cam berrins are wiped - oiling holes boogered up - causing a too hot situation on those four lobes....despite the lobes being oiled by crank 'splash.'
But, we'll all know more when you get back to us....good luck.

The second back lifter on the passenger's side and the fourth back lifter on the driver's side are stuck. All the rest seem to move freely with the magnet.
Is there a trick to removing them? Even the ones that move up and down seem pretty secure.
Unfortunately, I changed the oil and filter a few weeks ago, and it hasn't started since.
