Post 73-90 Econoline 1.25" Sway Bar Bushing Part Numbers

I don't know about the rest of you, but I found an issue trying to replace my sway bar bushings on my 89 E350 Motorhome, because my sway bar diameter was 1.25". This may be an issue for more years than I have listed here

Ford says that their parts book calls for a part number E0TZ5493C to go on the 73-90 E350 van's, however I had to call another dealer in AZ to find out that those bushings are only 1 3/16" dia. and will not fit my sway bar. I called the first dealer back, Santa Margarita Ford here in OC, and he found that on some cutaway chassis vans they used part number E4DZ5493A. Unfortunately this one is obsolete, so I had to call another outfit I found online that actually has them in stock called NOS Parts Warehouse (www.nospartswarehouse.com) and they measured it and found that it was actually 1 1/4" dia. Now the only problem is that if you want it in urethane, which I do, we will have to go with the universal parts available from Prothane, Moog, or Energy Susp. to get one that fits...

Here are the part numbers I found:
MOOG K7326
Energy Susension 9.5113 (non-greaseable), 9.5172 (greasable)
Prothane 19-1137 (non-greaseable), 19-1179 (greasable)
I would suggest that you go with Energy Suspension or Prothane, because
MOOG does not list their mesurements for this part number, only that it fits a 1.25" bar.

The end links are the same as for 1 1/8" bar diameter:
MOOG K8657
I installed these over the weekend and they work beautifully...

Hopefully this thread can be added to the Tech folder for those that need this info for their Vans and motorhomes...

I installed the MOOG K7326 this past weekend in my 1990 E350 motorhome and the bushings aren't a tight fit on the bar. In addition, the seam of the bushing wouldn't stay together/tight to encompass the bar. My bar measures slightly more than 1.25", between 1.25" and 1 5/16", so I am thinking 32mm. I plan to go with Energy once I confirm the exact measurement.

It does sound like there is a problem with that MOOG part...

Post back with your results using the Energy Susp. ones...
