2150 cracked venturi tubes

Started to rebuild my 2150 carb off of a 72 360 and there is a crack down both tubes on the venturi cluster that runs through the holes. is this a problem?

For the life of me I can't imagine how they'd get cracked! I'm thinking maybe it's just casting flash from when the assembly was molded. If they really are cracked that would not be a good thing. You want the venturis to be the only thing pulling fuel out of those tubes.

I also disassembled my carb and found my venturis tubes split.
why is this? The carb has very few miles on it but the truck has set for about 6 years without being started.

Good question have seen this mentioned before, and pics. Maybe condensation buildup or water in fuel? Then subzero temps? Kind of a stretch, just thinking out loud. Or, repeated heat cycling causes the brass alloy to work harden, and eventually split.
