Headers on a 2003 4.2 ...What is best?

spacer = waste of money

jba headers = waste of money

a company in california now makes headers for our 4.2 that eat the jba's for dinner the specs:

1 5/8" EQUAL length primaries
ceramic coated INCLUDED
bolts to stock Y tru bolt on design
14g steel (compared to the thinner 18g jba's)
retail price = $300 and YES that does include the ceramic coating

many chips available JET = waste of money throw that crap in the trash.

Doubt me?... I know what I'm talking about

Hey man,

Dont knock my ride with the stuff youve got. All I was saying is what I got and offering my opinion. Theres no need for you to be such a punk about it. You might have an idea of what you are talking about, but you still sound like an idiot. Get off your pedastool.

Theres no reason for you to for you try and sound like some supreme diety of 4.2's. And, nice Xl, real quality.

sorry guys but jet chips are garbage. The best way to get your truck tuned is on the dyno and get the eec flashed. I'm not sure if they have an "on the shelf" tune for a 4.2 truck yet.

But they might because alot of thunderbird guys are putting 4.2 splitports in place of the 3.8 motor.

Interesting stuff.

Nice xl?... I had a 2000 XLT 4.2 as well and I wanted a lighter truck... Not a punk I help everyone out that asks me but excuse me for knowing my (Admin note: further attempts to by-pass the language filters will not be tolerated) about the 4.2's and have the knowledge. Did I knock your ride?... no I'm just stating fact buddy sorry you feel that way. I'm owner of a v6 dedicated site the first actually maybe i'll finish it so I can get it back online soon who knows but anyway have a nice day

btw... I don't have those headers yet but I will in a few months when I have the money. I still run on stock manifolds now. Sorry that your all upset that you spent all that money and these are now out... I would be in that position too which is why I haven't bought the jba's in the past. anyway I'd rather modify the #1 and #4 primaries on the 3.8 mac long tubes and put them on my truck... long tubes are the best anyhoot.

company called 4.0 Liter Performance makes them+

The post above is absolute truth. This guy has made all accurate statements.

As for the JBA Headers, they are garbage. They are low quality, and many of the thunderbird/mustang guys have had bad luck with them cracking and leaking with extremely low mileage.

I would never buy a JBA Product.

I'm not sure what else is out there for the trucks, but Kooks makes an excelent product, maybe they will start doing them for trucks.

Interesting thread.

By the way, I'm not knocking anyones ride. I never will do that. Just stating facts based on what I have seen personally, not my opinion.

Talley, I read your reply to my exhaust system in the 97 - 03 F150 forums. I never really thought of the money issue. Would I spend that much money for those - probably not. I don't have that kind of cash.

Anyways, your truck runs a 13 quarter?! What the heck do you have on it? - AND DON'T SAY NITROUS! sorry, I'm just not a huge fan of NOS.

Also, if and when you get any more info on those headers from Cali, TELL ME!

Thanx 4 tha help!

they have no website no email only an address and phone number

that info is available in the september 2003 issue of sport truck on page 96.

as far as 13second.. ya thats with nitrous. all motor my best so far is 15.57 at 87.53 however I've added shocks, performance tires, 1.8 roller rockers, and electric fans so I'm shooting for a 15.3 in the right weather and this is all motor.
