torqshift questions
I recently overhauled a 5r110w torqshift in an 03 F350. The trans is acctually an 06 trans. The original problem was that the truck was "tieing up" on take off. When i tore the trans down i found the Low/Reverse clutches were burned bad and welded together. Everything else looked decent. I relaced all the clutches and checked all the clearances, except the OD clutch because i could not find any specs, or a way to adjust it. The trans has been doing good for around 200 miles. Now it has an intermitant problem. When you first start the truck its like the converter has to fill up. It has a delayed engagement, but only AFTER you shut the truck off. Also, after driving about 10 miles, sometimes it will feel sluggish. I put my Solus Pro on it and while watching the trans data noticed that the transmission is not downshifting all the way int first gear at times. It will down shift, and then try to take off in 3rd and sometimes 5th gear. Any one ever experianced this? I was looking thru my ATSG manual and i can see which clutches turn in for 3rd. It seems like a solenoid is sticking on and allowing fluid to "leak" and keep the wrong clutchturned nat the wrong time. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

I drove the truck some more today. The scan tool still is displaying the same info. That the gear selector is in OD, the manual valve in this position turns on the forward clutches. But instead of dropping all the way down to 1st gear it will drop from OD, to 5th, to 3rd, and that's it. When you accelerate it trys to take off in 3rd gear. If u manually move the shifter into 1st it will go to first. Correct me if I'm wrong but the scanner is displaying what the PCM is "commanding". I'm wondering if the PCM needs to be reflashed. The truck used to have an edge juice with attitude programmer, it got sold because I'm pretty sure that's what did the trans in the first time.

Well, like i said, "cleaned it the best i could". I removed all the solenoids and blew out the passages. It only has one actual valve, the manual valve so i cleaned it with clean trans fluid. But like you said i cant take the solenoids apart. I guess ill try cleaning it one more time and if that doesnt work ill see about a remaned solenoid body. Thanks alot for all the replies.

I scanned the truck after a few more days and it has set the code P2704, trans apply circuit E fault. This controls Low/Reverse, which was the clutch that was burned in the trans. I want to get this corrected before it burns them again. Since the problem is so random, it almost has to be trash floating around in the solenoid. I am going to switch it witht the TCC solenoid, they are the same part number. If the problem moves it has to be the solenoid. If it sets the same code, or continues with the same issue it will be something else, doubtfully an internal trans fault.

Tranny leaking
New here have a bad problem and am looking for verification on the issue...
I have a 2005 f250 4x4 w/6.0 psd recently my tranny has been blowing tranny fluid out of three holes on the upper rear passenger side of the tranny wondering if this may be caused by a seal before these holes that would have gone out ( believe these holes are some sort of breather/vents) and Is allowing the dluid th be in a location where it shouldn't be?? All answers and replays are greatly appreciated

Three holes in the upper passenger side of the trans? I've looked at a lot of TorqShift transmissions and I do not know of these holes.
I do know that some 2005 transmissions had a problem with the reverse clutch snap ring coming out of it's groove and getting ejected through the side of the case. That will cause a random number of holes in the case.
