Made my first trip with the new setup

I am more than happy. I can still push the egts over 1200, but its not near like it was with the stock turbo.

The hill I was ready to try it on I hit on the way home today. I got passed by two semis before I got to the hill. IIRC, its a 6 1/2% grade, about 1 1/2 miles long. One semi pulled into the added lane for slow traffic, the second passed him, and I passed them both in the passing lane. I was at 68mph in overdrive, between 1200 and 1250 egt's, 35 lbs of boost and going good. I was limited by the egt's on that hill, there was more throttle left. Gotta get those head studs in for sure.

Really though, I couldn't be happier how it worked, pulling 16k+ up that hill with a 20mph or so side wind. Made about 9.5mpg round trip, running 70 or so all the way.

Didn't get much racing done, the fuel pump in the car I was putting my sister in quit, and nobody had one like it I could use. I carry many spare parts, but that's a fairly new pump, and didn't have one big enough to use. Way it goes.

Thanks Aaron! I also should mention that I never set a 1211 anymore. That made me happy too. IIRC, it was at 39%dc, and 2900ish psi on the bigger hills.

Ear to ear smile, that's what I like to hear. How long could you hold 35lb boost before having to back out? I like going by the semi trucks when they get slowed down on the big hills. Coming up thru NE the other day I was hitting 30lbs boost and pulling real hard. Had a heck of a head wind so would let her fly downhill for the next hill. I didn't have the use of my OT button but was happy that my tunes were set high on the shifts so it worked out OK. Now I have to get that new shift lever installed that Bill sent me.

Lol! Thanks guys. No bugs to work out, it works great. You're right though, a big grin was on my face! Aaron, I did put a T500 in too, I had a modded 17* from Joey before.

Glenn, I could have held that 1200 egt's and 35lbs of boost at that speed as long as I wanted to. I had my foot set still and was rolling up that hill good. Something I couldn't have come close to doing before!

One thing that did happen is the boot and clamp slipped loose on my 2 piece hot side pipe. I lost some boost and temps went up so I pulled over after a while. I fixed it and got to the track, then switched it with one of my "hump boots" I had and that worked.

That is really great performance, I'm jealous! I wonder what is different between our set ups because there is no way I could hold that kind of boost for that long. Even if its the stage II's creating more heat then that doesn't make sense because I can't get that high of boost. I'm lost! I do like the performance of mine but still feel something is wrong. Jonathan told me a month ago he would send a reburn file but he is blowing me off. Jake sent me some burns but I was waiting on Jonathan to send his so I can ask them how to use my burner.

Glenn, all I can think of is it has to be in the tunes. I don't know what else it could be. Holding that boost that long is the reason I really want to get some studs in. I said it before, but if you keep getting screwed around on your tunes, I'd really think about php tunes if I were you. I've read they don't have the best service either(I delt with Jim for mine), but my tunes flat out work if you ask me. I've only sent my chip in once, and that was to get rid of the econo tune. Just my opinion of course, I hope these guys get you going better and you don't have to look elsewhere.

I'm glad you're happy with your setup as well Darin. I'd love to see what kind of numbers you and Glenn are putting down.

Thanks Todd. I'd like to find a dyno someday and try it, I'm quite curious too. I will see if I can find one around here, but I'm not going to get on one until I get my studs in.
