How much does your 5.4L weigh?

I know there's a lot of threads asking about weights of trucks, but I haven't really seen a lot (or any for that matter) of owners of 5.4L Super Duty trucks. I was going to a CAT scale pretty soon, but was curious what other 5.4L trucks are weighing.

I got my registration today from the dealer. It says my '09 has a "Empty Weight" of 6400lbs. Humm, don't know about that. It is a gasser, but still.... What does your 5.4 weigh?

It's hard to find an exact weight, but most places I've found say they weigh between 500-550 lbs for the complete assembly. In comparison a V10 is around 640 lbs, and the Powerstrokes are between 900-1100 lbs.

I'm glad you brought that up. I was just thinking about engine weights the other day and had tried to find some figures, but never could. I could find weights on the Powerstrokes, but was having a hard time nailing down a solid number for the 5.4L.

Thanks for the comparisons and I apologize for not being more clear in my post.

You sure that's a 5.4L gasser? You must have one heck of a tool box.

Yeah, you're probably right. That 350 might add a little more to it, too.

When I think about it, the question was kind of crazy considering the weight of each truck depends on options and what ever one might be carrying.

But just a quick look tells me most of the truck are around the same weight, minus the extras that folks might have in or on their trucks.

I'm almost afraid to weigh mine. With the tool box, 20 inchers, Ranch Hand bumpers and options, who knows what it will tip the scales at. It's no wonder when I press on the gas, it doesn't want to go anywhere, lol. You have to get a running start up hills or you will lose speed real quick.

Oh well, it's interesting to know the different weights on our 5.4s. If we get much heavier weights, we might start making the coal rollers jealous.
