My 56 F-250

Hello, it's been quite a while since I accessed this place and have missed it. Just moved a couple thousand miles from Lake Havasu City Arizona to Cambridge, Ohio. My old truck just don't like the damp climate. I want to add a picture of my truck but I have no idea how to move a picture from my pictures to this window. I been looking for a couple years now for period correct 56 to ?? 8 lug wheels for the old boy to get rid of the UGLY aluminum wheels on there now. I'll trade straight up for 4 nice alum. wheels and tires for 5 OEM wheels just haven't had any takers yet.

I'll get a picture or two loaded when I figure it out.

TTL, Don

If you have an account on Photobucket, Flickr, etc. you can paste the URL (link) from the album there to a post on here.

Here's one way to put pics in your posts.

Go to Photobucket.com and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Hey Don,
The easiest way to post pics on the Ford Enthusiast forum is to join.
I think it's $20 - with that you get minimal advertising & you get a paperclip symbol. You just click that symbol & you are able to post pics directly from your hard drive (very easy). I never could figure out that linking to the internet approach.

Good luck over there. That's a pretty stout looking real truck you have - what else are you planning for it besides changing out the wheels?

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

picture of my 56

Here she is in all her glory, I really love American iron. These old F-250 trucks must be as rare as Hen's teeth, I've never seen another one. The horse shoe on the bumper is to Honor my Father as he always ran a horse shoe on his side boom many years ago.

Thanks, I'm really lucky to have found this old gem. With a few minor exceptions like a modern alternator and those damn wheels this truck is original. It has a 292 Y block engine coupled to a 4 speed trans. rear end is 4.56 so it's like driving a tractor on the road. This truck spent it's life up until now in the desert and has zero rust. Plan is to pull it apart, clean it all up, put it back together and leave it original. Maybe someday buy a couple lawn chairs for me and the wife and take in a few car shows. BTW, the spare tire hanging on there is date stamped 4-43, that's why I'm looking for 5 wheels, I'm going to hang that wheel and tire in my shop.
