nearly new 1960's tow truck

Hello FTE, my name is Russ and this is my story. I have a friend who's uncle owned a towing company and always had nice trucks. Well, he has passed away and I am in the process of trying to buy a few. The one i really want in an older model, but they cannot find the title. I was wondering if there is some site to decode the vin, as we dont even know what year the truck is. the vin # is F50CCS92381. I will post pics as soon as I get into the building where they are located. He has several older tow trucks and a few other vehicles that i am interested in. The best one is an 11k mile 63 R code Galaxy. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Russ welcome to FTE!

I think we might have a few members who can help you with that vin. See if you can find NumberDummy who is a retired Ford parts manager. He has a lot of older information of Ford vehicles.

In the mean time, the local members of the OH chapter of FTE would like to meet you. You can find the OH members here,,,, Ohio Chapter - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Thanks for the replies, and it is good to be here. Well, I was wrong about the year, but it runs like a champ. . It has been a few weeks in the making, but here is the prize. This is a really cool truck, and should provide some fun.

And the tag,
