Hi, going to collect my 1955 f250 on Saturday, can't wait to get it. It's had the bed shortened as you can see in the pics. It has a 3 speed manual column shift. Not sure on the engine I can see its a y block, maybe a 272? it looks to me that that when they have shortened the bed they put it back on sloping forward slightly, what do you guys think?

Welcome to FTE! Nice looking truck. What are your plans for the truck?
If you look on the intake manifold behind the exhaust, there will be an identification number on it. The block casting number will be on the passenger side below the spark plugs at the front of the engine.
Here is a link to decode those numbers: TECHNICAL
Earl's World is also a great site for information: http://www.clubfte.com/users/earl/Re..._Material.html

I'm gonna use it as it to start with. I think the seat needs a retrim and maybe some interior trim and parts. I would def like to do a front disc conversion as they seem to be reasonably priced for the kits.
I can see me wanting to up the power in the future. If I wanted to put a 351w block with about 350hp what would I need to do to the truck to run that. Ive done a bit of research but don't fully understand, would it need independent front suspension etc.

Hi Guys
Good luck with your new truck.
I am originally from London ..now living in Bangkok Thailand.
I issue ALL FTEs' do not buy anything from Bobs F100 Riverside Ca.
He advertises in the truck mags, he is a swindler and crook.
If you need most ,infact ALL Ford Calssic truck parts get a look at Mid Fifty
in Arizona.
I have been going thru legal stuff with the guy ...and am in Court on the 31 st May.
For ref about this guy see.1955 Nightmare at BobsF100 by Joe Swing
