I would probably not have sold my '12 had I gotten the 4.30 and a 5 star tune. My $0.02

Just my opinion, but if you are contemplating it then you probably need/want it. I ordered mine with the 4.30 and couldn't be happier. Granted I only have 700 miles on it in 2 months the truck rides great.

For reference, my 2008 F250 with the 5 speed at 70 mph ran 2000 rpms with the 3.73's. This truck with the 6 speed at 70 mph runs just a hair under 2100. Not much of a difference at all. I am looking forward to pulling our 10k pound fifth wheel this spring.

Also no highway driving at all yet other than the 210 miles home from the dealer and the gauge sets at 11.7 mpg. The same as my 08 6.4 liter.

I was wondering if you got anything more in your new truck vs your old one? was it creature comforts, better mileage or just an update?

Cougarpuller hasn't posted in a while, last one was 1/13/14.

LG did that include the box and that nice bumper and everything or did you have to go somewhere else and have that stuff put on?

When I test drove a lot truck, I thought the RPMs were way too low at highway speed. You will not be disappointed with the 4.3's

Wondering if things have changed with the 17,s 250 with the 6r100 and 3.73,'s vs 350 with the 6r140 and 4.30's. How much of a difference in MPG's running empty at 75mph?

There's little difference between the 6R100 and 6R140 sixth gear ratios (0.69:1 vs 0.674:1 respectively). Everything else being equal, the difference between 0.69 x 3.73 and 0.674 x 4.30 is 2.57 vs 2.90, or +12.7%.

Running empty, I'd expect the 3.73 axle ratio to deliver better fuel economy.

Jim / crewzer
