2000 Ford Ranger clutch line replacement

I have a 2000 ford ranger, and I can't seem to find a replacement for the hydraulic line that goes from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylider. The part number is 7A512. I can find lines for everything up to a 97, but after that, I have trouble finding anything. All the ones I'm able to find are $100 or more, when the older ones are only $50. Can I use an older one? or is the connector a different size?

All I really need is the connector at the end. It's worn down and slips right out when I put pressure on the clutch pedal. Is there anywhere I could just get this part?

I got master cylinder for a 4.0L 2000 for $40 and they thru in the line, at a bone yard. Have no need for it anymore, where you located?

Most of those lines have a small roll pin or clip that holds the line in place.

@smalltrucker
I'm in Mt Horeb, WI. How much do you want for it?

@f5fordgirl
The edge is so worn down that the clip no longer holds it.

what is the issue-
saving a couple $$ on a line on something that is critical to shifting and clutch life

time is money- do it yourselfers need to think -by trying to save a couple bucks by looking for cheap you might end up swatting yourself in the back of the head

Nobody likes the shop prices- but they do it right- if you allow them to

Unfortunately, I don't have much money. And I'm quite capable of doing this on my own. This is a really simple thing to fix. I was just trying to see if I could save $50 (which is a lot to someone like me) by getting a part from an older vehicle. Plus I have all the time I want, as I am 19 and currently unemployed.

Funny thing, I'm going down I-39 on Friday about noon and could meet you someplace easy. Shoot me a PM if you can.

Unfortunately, I can't send PM's for another week.

My email is airsim14@gmail.com. Could you email me how much you want for it, and a picture of the part (I'm sure it's the right part, but I'd just like to make sure before I drive across town).

Thanks!
