Seat Question

Does anyone know if the seats in these trucks are all the same?

I have a 2006 F250 Super Cab XLT. The driver’s seat is manual, with no realadjustment for the seat angle. On long drives the back of my legs start to cramp/ hurt. (I think I am getting old) I am thinking about trying to switch the driver’sseat out for a power driver’s seat, but I have a few questions.

I would like to switch the seat bottom and back over to the new power seat base so everything matches (cloth seats). Does anyone know what years the seat base will bolt up?

Are the seat bases different for the super cab? I ask this because the seatbelt is built into the seat on the super cab ones and I don’t know if the base is designed heavier to deal with this.

Anyone switch the seat bottom and back out? How much work? I am thinking a few bolts hold the seat and back to the base.

Thanks

The 1999 to present Super Duty trucks all use the same basic cab so any year seat will fit in any year vehicle.

BUT

The electronics/wiring will be different. It would be best to discuss exactly what you want to put in, from what year, to see if anyone has attempted the swap previously.

Thanks Redford. That answers that question. I am also not really worried about the wiring deal. I can splice a new plug, or get that workingeven if I have to run a new power wire.

I would like to get someting in the 05-07 range, so that the gray plastic parts on the base match well. But if I find something outside of that range I may go with it.

Do you, or anyone else, know if the base of the seats are different for the super cab. The supercab seats have the seatbelt in them. Are they (the base, and back) stronger because the seat has to be able to hold everything in an accident?

I swapped the stock bench seat for 2005 Lariat heated electric seats and had no problems with mounting. The holes are in the floor for the additional required bolts. You will need to run a tap thru the unused holes as they are not tapped out. I used a metric tap of the same as the OEM tapped holes. Much better seating and comfort. I built my own wire harness and used "key on" relays for power supply.
