Supercharging 1999 5.4

I am thinking about supercharging my 99, but I cant find any kits for my model truck anymore, would a kit for a newer truck work? Just get a custom tune from someone to run it. Yes I know I will need to swap injectors, and fuel pump, etc. But I wanna get an idea of what I need to do, if its even possible!

You would have to piece together a kit from various kits on order for it to work. Or call a supercharger company(vortec, procharger, KB etc) and see if they would make you a custom unit for your application. Be prepared though it will be costly.

Why would I need to piece it from various kits? Why wouldnt a kit for a 04 up 5.4 work? It would bolt up to the engine then same I would assume and would pretty much be the same except for the tuning.

I have the Vortech kit on my 98 Navigator. I believe the newer kits don't line up the same and you would need to fabricate some brackets.

Because not all 04 and up vehicles have the same belt path, accessories, or TB configuration. You would be trying to adapt a kit made for one vehicle to yours. You would be fabbing your own brackets and such. BTW the belt has to run perfectly straight on centri superchargers. Even a hair off and you will be shredding and throwing belts. My 02 GT is a prime example and I used a kit FOR that vehicle.
