Wrong Pitman Arm

I have a '69 F-100 that I converted to power steering using the gearbox and pump from a '76. From what I've been able to find out from the various forums, there are two different pitman arms used on "Bumps" with Ford power steering boxes. The pitman arm used on '71 & earlier trucks is part# C9TA-3590-E and the pitman arm used on '72 & up trucks is part# D2TA-3590-BA. Neither one of these arms seems to be reproduced by the aftermarket despite the popularity of these trucks. I installed my power steering using the late arm (D2TA-3590-BA). Everything went together and appears that it will work. Though it does put the ball stud in the drag link close to the extreme of it's travel. I have tried turning the steering in both directions and haven't noticed any interference, at least with my truck sitting level in my garage, anyway. My truck is almost ready to go back on the road. So, I'll be watching everything very closely for the first couple of weeks, checking for signs of interference, etc.
My question is whether anyone else is using the wrong pitman arm? Has anyone tried using the late pitman arm (D2TA-3590-BA) with the early linkage, and if so, did you run into any problems?

Here is a past thread with the difference. I can only assume possible binding. Which might have been at factory ride heigth. If you have none than maybe it's a non-issue.

On my 68 CS i'm going to replace the Bendix box that has 42,000 original miles as the seal kit started to leak and i've got $400 invested in it the last two months. I found a 70 steering column that i'm rebuilding and painting at this time. Questions; i found two pitman arms, one from a 70, C9TA3590E that has a 11/16" offset, parallel ends, the other from a 72, D2TA-3590-BA that has no offset but the drag link end is angled 21 degree up from the box end? What's the difference in durability between a Fomoco vs Saginaw box? Availibilty of rebuild seal kits? Thanks guys, Carl..........o&o>................

My 70 had a PS swap done to it and it uses the D2** pitman arm with stock linkages and the original drum brakes. It works fine.

Soon she'll get DJM beams, 78 discs, radius arms, and steering linkages.
