AC Problems

Having an issue with the AC in my 2006 F250. While driving my AC on max doesn't seem to blow that cold, but when idling, it blows cold. Eventually, while driving, it will slowly get cold, but when i stop and take off again, it gets warm. Any help would be wonderful. Thank you

If it's a crew cab the vacume hose may have come off the heater control valve on the heater hose under the hood passenger side near the firewall. It could also be a problem with the Vacume pump or resivour or Vacume lines (also on passenger side between heater box and battery). It could also be low on freon and just need a charge. In that turns out to be the problem it may have a very slow leak that needs repaired also.

When it stops blowing cold stop get out and look at the compressor. See it the clutch is slipping. I just had this on my 2003 and it turned out the clutch had just worn down so much is was slipping when hot. All I had to do was remove the front clutch plate and remove the spacer to put it back in spec. It has been working great since.

Here is a great write up on how to fix it. I did not need any spacers in my situation. Hope this is your problem as it could be an almost free fix.

AC Problems

Thanks for the replies. I will check these things this afternoon. I have been having some issues with the 4wd. When I turn the **** for 4wd, the air starts blowing out of the defrost ans eventually coming back out in the vents. Dont know if this would be related?

Yes, you have a vacum leak and more nthan likely from your description from one of the locking hub systems.
