Looking for direction on rough running PSD...
I have a 96 crew cab with electric fuel conversion from the PO.
About a month ago the truck started taking a little longer to fire up in the morning. When it does fire up, the RPMs immediately drop real low, bounces between 300 rpms and 600, then it comes around and idles normal. After sitting for a while, it will do the same thing when starting up. If warm, the truck fires right up fine.
The starting thing has progressively gotten worse. Now, when coming to a stop the truck starts to act like it is gonna shut down. The idles gets real low and it begins to lope. It hasn't died yet, but it makes a convincing argument that it is going to. When I hit the pedal, it takes off just fine. Come to the next stop sign and the RPMs drop into the 200-300 range.
I have also noticed the tranny seems to take a bit longer to shift. Going from 1-2 seems to be dragged out a bit and isn't as crisp.
I replaced the CPS about 6 mos ago with one from the dealership. But from what I have read, that could be a suspect. My research turned up a number of things...
1)Bad torque converter not releasing and bogging the truck down
2)Faulty CPS
3)Low oil in the engine and HPOP (checked both and levels are good)
4)Ebpv gone bad (unplugged it from below the turbo and no real difference)
5)ICP sensor faulty (unplugged and no change in idle)
6)IPR sensor faulty
7) others?
I am hoping to get some help. #2 and #3 have been addressed. But could the others listed cause the problems I have suggested?

How do I drain the filters on this beans diesel electric fuel system?
I don't know much about it since I didn't install it.
There are two filters under the truck, both with filter drains on the bottom.
Do I drain both until empty? Once drained can I simply screw on new filters or will they have to be primed?
