Local International Dealer

Local International Dealer
So I am curious if anyone else has had a similar dealing with their local International Dealer.
I was having issues with the local big box Auto Part stores not having a clue what Antifreeze to use in my 6.0L. They all wanted to sell me the standard coolant choices.
So I decided I was going to go through the local IH dealer and deal with the folks who rep the company who built the engine. What a joke it turned out to be!
It took 5 phone calls to get someone to me. After telling the parts guy I was looking for a T-stat and coolant, he doesn't place me on hold, he places the phone on the counter and gets back to me in 15 mins. When he gets back to me he says I need the engine serial number from the tag on the engine. My response is "Cool, can you tell me where to look on the engine for the tag?" I get "open the hood and look for the tag!" Ok I will do that, can you tell me what coolant I need? I get transferred to the service department.
Service department guy was helpful about the coolant until I asked what they would charge to do a coolant flush on my Excursion.
I get a response after he stops laughing! Sir we don't work on anything in a chassis that is not an IH chassis! I ask for him to clarify that they do not work on any IH engine in Ford vehicles. He then restates that is the case.I also asked him what shop grade was on the coolant they use. He couldn't tell me. I hung up after that!
Now since I have been searching for information on the 6.0 L beast, I know that I have come across articles that referenced IH dealers in Texas, California and a few other states that will work on anything IH in Ford chassis.
Has anyone else had an experience like this?

yup par corse IH wont normally do it. also when you find your esn# and give it to them odds are it wont pull it. they have no intrest in do that eithier.
they will work on 650/750 as they are navastar units. the issue with the small f-series trucks is the software is very different and they dont have the ability to touch it at that level. just as most at the dealer level (minus truck shops) dont have the the softwear or obd hook ups for the bigger 650+ units

You MUST to HAVE ALL your DUCKS in a ROW to get Parts from International Dealer
PART #s Everything
They wont be able to Check the Parts to make shure they are right for your truck so you MUST be ON YOUR GAME
International is Great for parts and Usually cheaper then FORD
I know they sell ELC Called FLEETRITE
Your Thermostate PART# will be
1839304C92-------------------------------------Thermostat (190°F)
1837971C91------------------------------------Thermostat (190°F)
Looks like I had 2 part#s
Maybe Mark will stop in and Verify
When you get it will be Obvious so just look at it before you leave store thats All I do!!
I also Take old part with me to compare

Seems par for the course for the medium and heavy truck dealers... International and Sterling hate dealing with Ford, Kenworth hates Peterbilt even though its all the same truck and vice versa.
Same thing with Freightliner and Mercedes. Even better with the same dealer (Transwest for example) deals with multiple brands and won't look up crap without a VIN or ESN.
