That's a very proud starting bid, but I'd be proud of it too if I had it.

Might be that I could have mentioned that I found mine at Iola, so had no added shipping cost. Until you factor in two or three tanks of gas. Stu

Apparently it was a fair starting price.

Congrats to Jordan!

I also sold an F2-3 tailgate today for a BIN price of $300, but I was riding Jordan's coat tails. My tailgate was sold within a few minutes of Jordan's auction ending. Thanks Jordan!

Thanks guys. I knew it was worth something since it was so darn straight. I try to pick up parts and sell them to make an attempt to pay my $20,000 per year Purdue bill...

Nothing wrong with buying and reselling!

I found out yesterday that the guy that bought my tailgate was also bidding on Jordan's tailgate but didn't win, obviously.

FWIW I put a bed from a '47 tonner on my '38 tonner a few years back. (could it have really been 20 years?) I had to section the width by maybe 3 or 4" . So there was a change in the tailgate somewhere in there. And for reference I bought an excellent rust free 9' flareside bed on craigslist Spokane for 600.00 with nice merc tailgate too.
