New to FTE, New 48 F1 owner, questions on what i actually have..
Hi everyone, Jeff here. I have a 48 F1...I think. vin#88RC-41884, mod# 8RC. Been reading a lot on here as a non member and have some questions about my truck. It has column shift, radio and antenna on cowl, looks like 50 tailgate due to latches on bottom of roll, a spotlight on drivers side. Some of this does not sound 48.... I have pics but not sure how to post... any help would be appreciated.
Added an album..."PA's 48" with pics of the truck. Let me know what you think...thanks...

Reason: More info
We would of course like to see pictures, if you can put them on Photobucket or Flickr etc and link to them, it would help. You appear to have a hybrid, as a '50 shouldn't have column shift.
The doghouse and cab could be a '48. The Stainless grill bars that are not screwed on would be correct for a '48. But the bed itself does not appear to be a '48, (flat sides) but rather a late '50+.
Column shift and flat bedsides are rumored to have been in production on very late 1950 models. Just this past weekend I saw a 50 F1 with the 51-52 bed. The truck was made on December 27, 1950 in Richmond, CA. The truck was slightly modified and has had its original column replaced.
Ilya, my friend had an extremely late 1950 F-1 with what appeared to be an original column shift before he sold it on ebay. The production number was something like 430,000 plus as I recall. It also had a flat panel bed.
Can anyone tell me what the vin number reveals? Does the Vin say it's 48? Also, I read a thread on here where a guy said he had seen one 48 in the past with factory option column shift. Also, does anyone know what the hole with three smaller holes on back of cab driverside are?
