Is my radiator covered or not?

Is my radiator covered or not?
I have a 2008 6.4 produced may of 2007 and I bought it June of 2007. Truck has 60k miles and I have deleted and stuff.
My radiator has a slow leak but only when the coolant is full and hot. Once it leaks enough then it stops. It is ok when the engine is cold and the degas bottle level is right at the lower "cold fill range" line.
I have checked and it is not from the hoses that I can see following both upper and lower hoses.
Several posts but I cannot determine covered or not. I am past the 5 yrs but less than 100k miles.

My buddys truck is just like this, were planning on putting a rad in it soon. For now hes running it with the coolant low because if he tops it off it leaks down fast. In theory that could lead to bubbles in the engine, esp the top egr cooler being high up. Is there an air purge or does this pos need to have the air vacuumed out?

I was supposed to have my radiator reconditioned/repaired today for $250.
I went to another radiator repair shop and talked to owner. He advised drive the thing until it leaks worse.
Mine has a leak at top right corner. Once coolant is at the "low" line in degas tank it stops leaking. There is still half a gallon left in the tank. The hose to go to radiator is underneath the degas bottle so i am not worried about running out.
He said with small hole at top it helps relieve air bubble and the degas half full allows for more air. This all helps with the cavitation problem with the air bubbles.
Makes sense so I am going to do nothing for now.
