460 Models and Transmissions

Okay, my current setup is a '73 460 in my '88 F-350 with a C6 trans (had a 351 paired with it). I'm going to be getting another 460 for the truck soon. My question is, do all carb 460s line up with the transmission bolt pattern to pair with my C6? I'm mainly looking to get another mid 70's engine, but may have the opportunity to get an earlier 68-71 engine (are they any different in bolting up to my trans?). Sorry if I sound ignorant, I'm just trying to jump into this stuff and learn.

Thanks in advance!

All 429/460s have the same bell, carb or efi.

351M/400 is the same. Those ended in '81.

351W is way different.

Did you have a transplanted 351m in your truck before?

Thanks for the reply!
