Trans Temp gauge and ZF-6 Manual trans
I have an '04 f250 that came with the touque-shift automatic transmission.
I have swapped in a ZF-6 manual trans (and LOVE it!).
Here is the question.... I have the stock Trans Temp Gauge in the dash that now just sits there..... Is there a way to hook that to the ZF-6?
the Zf-6 is form an '08. The swap was relatively painless, but did not see a Sensor.... is there a plug to be removed? somewhere to install a sensor that can be routed to the dash gauge?
thanx

No, you'll not be able to make that work. It isn't a simple sender-gauge. There is a sensor in the automatic that the TCM reads. It then sends a digital signal to the dash computer, and the dash computer decides where to place the needle in the gauge. And that gauge only has four positions, cold, warmed up, hot, and overheating.

i then have a follow-up question..... does the ZF-6 have a spot to hook a sensor? ie. an after-market of some kind? dont tow a lot, but seems it would be something worthy of monitoring.
thanx again
