Dieselsite fuel filter w/ AMP Powersteps

I'm looking at installing one of the dieselsite fuel filter/water separators and have watched the youtube video and seen the pics on their website. I have AMP powersteps and am curious if the filter unit will fit w/ the steps installed?

Is there anyone out there that has the steps and installed the filter that can confirm that it will fit?

Thanks!

Just installed the DieselSite Filter and took some measurements and pics for you.

I would say the petcock sits about 3 1/2 inches below the frame.

Hope this helps.

Cool! Thanks for the pics. Reps sent your way.

Hey, it looks like you ran over somebodies trumpet. It's wedged up under your frame.

I often wish I had a set of train horns to scare the crap outa those idiots who are texting while they're driving thru intersections. I got a gal the other day while she was texting and driving. I honked at her and spooked her, but, a set of train horns would have been ideal instead of the OEM horn.

Man, those steps are going to be close. My Amp steps, when retracted, are about 6 1/2" off the frame.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate the feedback. I'll have to take a close look at my set up and do some measuring.

Jalanas,

I'm looking at doing the same. I don't have either the steps or the filter system yet. I plan on getting the steps with the 2 inch extensions. I'm not sure if that will make even more of a difference. Sharing your findings, or estimations would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jim,

i have the steps/ w/o the extentions so I'm not sure if they will make a differernence or not. According to my measurements, the amp steps are about even with the bottom of the frame and are about 6in from the frame when retracted. Based on the measurements that Dave provided, they would be incredibly close to the filter bowls. At this point, I think I would have to hear from someone w/ the steps that they installed the filters and they fit before I go ahead and order the filter set up.

Yes, I just got off the phone with Dieselsite, they don't know, but sure would like too. They said that if you wanted to order one, and if it didn't fit, they would accept the return.

Thanks John for your reply, how do I add to your reps?

Jim,

I had called them also. They were very helpful in giving me some measurements, but as you mentioned, couldn't confirm fitment. Good to know that they'll accept the return.

Thanks again.

Is the dieselsite filter system the only after market option we have? From talking to both AMP STEP and Dieselsite, it's not looking good, for having both.
