1972 Lincoln 460 out of a Continental, non smog heads ported and polished, straight up timing, full COMP hydro roller valvetrain, PRW roller rockers, double valve springs, Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-gap intake and Holley 650 vac sec.
While I have the engine out for my frame off, I think I'll get am overbore, get a nice custom cut cam, better rockers (chev 454 rockers in there now ), some long tube headers, and a Holly or trick flow double pumper.

I've got a 1973 460 out of a Continental in my '88 F-350. Stealth intake, long tubes, high torque cam, Edelbrock 1406 600 CFM vacuum sec + riser under carb, upgraded to Duraspark 2 ignition
I'm planning on building another 70's 460 for this truck. Want a little more power. Will probably be about a 400 HP build.

My 1973 Ford F350 super camper special has the original 390, I added an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, a new Edelbrock 650cfm carburetor and two into one 3" aluminized exhaust running thru a Flowmaster muffler, then replaced all electrical components such as the Distributor, coil, alternator, starter, voltage regulator, batteries, cables, starter solenoid, I then installed a new water pump and thermostat along with new belts and hoses and had the radiator pressure tested. Now I feel I am good to take a trip in it!

Chino...
If you're looking for engine builds, go to this post and scroll down to the 351M/400 links: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post13139591
Lots of other links there to help with your restoration.. maybe modification!

The engine in Buford is 400 based, but not precisely what you'd call stock. It's a 434 (compliments of Tim Meyer), with CHI 2v aluminum heads, custom Comp Cams grind, Scorpion roller rockers, Lunati tie-bar roller lifters, titanium spring keepers (shockingly enough, we HAD to use these for the weight difference.....steel was causing valve float), Weiand intake, oval air cleaner with the "Ford" logo (tough to find), Demon 750 carb with annular boosters, Ford Racing valve covers, MSD distributor with electronic ignition, Edelbrock water pump, high flow Saginaw style power steering pump with custom bracket from Wild Horses 4x4, Fluidampr harmonic balancer, Milodon oil pan with high volume pump, Heddman headers with ceramic "Alumichrome" coating from Performance Coatings in Auburn, WA, aaaaaand I'm sure a few other odds and ends I can't remember. The machine work was done by Tim Meyer, with 4 bolt main caps installed, all oil starvation issues handled.....it runs like a champ!
Other engine compartment additions were the F-350 brake booster (the F-250 11" single diaphragm booster was too big....the dual diaphragm F-350 booster is only 9" in diameter), a VIAIR 200psi air compressor, dual blue top Optimas with custom trays (those Ford logo trays were actually my idea for the blue top batteries, believe it or not.....the guys at the Optima tray shop couldn't believe no one had thought of it before....kinda just made sense to me!)....battery isolator by Hellroaring Technologies (has a control switch in the cab that allows the secondary battery to be switched on as a primary or a booster), custom battery cables fabbed out of 0 gauge blue Stinger wire (great power transfer)...soldered and heat shrunk to be weatherproof, and all wiring done by yours truly with the Centech harness and the Painless braided wrap. Everything else (pulleys, brackets, inner fenders, supports, etc.) were powdercoated in gloss black for good measure.
You'd think with all of that, I'd have taken a bigger picture, but noooooooo.....I'm a putz. When I'm able to walk again (surgery a while back.....still stuck in my room for now), I'll go take a better picture. Anyway, this should give you guys the general idea. Oh, and before you ask.......yes, it's quite clear that I lost my stinkin' mind....but it's how I wanted to build it. I may still change things down the road a bit (addition of AC, and a serpentine system), but things will do just fine for now.
