Pulsing Vibration At Idle Only

Pulsing Vibration At Idle Only
99 F250 LD 4x4 5.4l 218k.
I've noticed a pulsing , drowning , vibration when my truck idles . It's not
always there just mostly on cold starts. I'm pretty sure I need a new flex
plate and possibly new starter as I'm getting the occasional grinding on starts. Could this be causing the torque converter to be out of balance?
The engine runs smooth as silk when accelerating and at speed. Any
suggestions? Thanks
