Yes you can get everything that you need as a kit from Barder turbo.

Interesting.... I like things I can do myself

How does a D66 compare to an S366? Similar upgraded performance? Is one better at a particular application than another, say towing?

Their isn't a comparison. A S frame blows the d66 away

I am curious which turbo you would go with in this setup:

An S366 or D66(building it myself)

Stage 1's
PHP Hydra chip
3" DP to 4" Diamond Eye
homemade bellowed up pipes
7.3L Intercooler
5spd manual w/ valair clutch rated at 400hp
6637
Stock fuel pump & bowl
T-500 HPOP.
Truck is a 2wd tow pig and daily driver.

I am looking for a quicker turbo response. Say from 1500rpms upwards. When does the S366 start to spool up in comparison to the D66?

I assume I would need E-fuel for the S366 as well, right.

The D66 isn't going to spool any faster then a stock turbo. It still used the stock exhaust side.

Both the d66 and s366 are gonna spool about the same time (s366 maybe a little faster) but the s366 is going to perform much better and keep egt's lower.

I'd use the s366

If that is the case, then I would likely just stick with the stock turbo. I carry a spare just in case in the tool box anyway. I really don't have too much issue with EGTs now with the intercooler even close to 24K combined.

Hey Scotty, I'm curious to how you like the php hydra chip.

I ran that combo you mentioned with the stock turbo, except an automatic trans. It worked ok, but I was pushing some pretty high boost numbers (25 or so) on small hills towing so I upgraded to the S366. Now I get more boost (which this turbo can handle, the stocker wouldn't have lasted long imo).

I usually try to keep the turbo at or under 20psi of boost, but its hit 36psi at WOT before a few times unloaded.

I like the chip for the most part, especially with the intercooler installed.

Got ahold of them and the whole kit shipped is 690. Sounds like a good route vs. The 1200 for a new d66

Resurrection time. I'm curious to hear about how this has performed, any thoughts, comments, or regrets, regarding this system.

Still on my truck, works well. Stage 2's seem to work well with it.
