bought a new 7.3- came with a new pump

This is a 4wd 7.3 Manuel. But the previous owner bought a turbo injector pump and its a non turbo 91. Will it work with a good pyro? I know that since its free id like to just put a pyro on it( a stock truck should have one anyways) and call it good with the turbo pump. if not does anyone know how to tweak it down?

the turbo and the n/a ip's don't deliver more or less fuel than one another.they are both fully adjustable via the internal fuel screw as far as that is concerned.what's different is the internal timing.i dunno how much difference it really makes yet.to put a used turbo ip on your n/a, just turn the fuel down a couple flats, cus she can't burn all that of what a 8-10 lb boosted engine did.
dang.i need to get on top of this and swap mine out for turbo calibrated ip still.........there's always something to do.

i would call the re-manufacturer of the ip and ask them if breaking the seal/paint on the fuel screw adjustment cover so that you could turn it down for use on an n/a engine and still keep the warranty.
my guess is they'll tell you it will be void, but it can't hurt to ask.

if you try and run it without turning the fuel down a flat or two, then she'll roll coal and you'll have a mushy pedal down around 3/4 or so,fuel mileage will be down, and of course the worse case would be she burns your engine up.

If you don't wanna trade with F250, leave it like it is and install a pyro. As long as you watch your EGT's, I don't think it's gonna cause any issues other than maybe lower your MPG's a little and roal a little coal.

i think with a turbo pump on an N/A he would be watching his pyro more than the road, even driving unloaded.

**********The first part of this post was about my IP, which I thought was a turbo IP. Turns out it's N/A. Sorry!******************
To be fair, I bought the pump from PensicolaDiesel. Had a very bad experience with them, this was the third pump they sent me, as the first two ran terribly right out of the box.

But that said, runs great. Turned down the torque screw a bit, and I'm mostly satisfied with it. I think I need new injectors at this point, but otherwise she runs great. Good power for N/A I think. Definitely tows better than when I got the truck with an old pump and old injectors. (got better mpg's with those, though...)
